Two boda boda riders died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, after colliding head along the Mbukoni Kalawa Road in Makueni County.
A witnesses told Mwanahabari that the two riders were heading in opposite directions when they collided at high speed.
One of the riders died on the way to hospital – while the other one died while undergoing treatment at the Makueni Referral Hospital where he had been rushed by Good Samaritans.
Speaking after the incident, Makueni police boss Joseph Ole Napeiyan asked boda boda riders to be careful on the road – to avoid accidents.
The bodies have been preserved at the hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.

The accident comes just hours after a boda boda rider, a woman he was carrying together with her two children died on the spot after their motorbike collided with a G4S Van on Tuesday, January 4 in Embu.
Embu West Sub-county Police Commander Julius Kyumbure termed the accident as most unfortunate.
“The rider was trying to overtake coming from Embu town and headed to Kiritiri when his bike collided head-on with a G4S Van that was coming from Kiritiri Side,” said Kyumbure who also asked riders to be careful on the road.
