Supporters of Deputy President Willia Ruto have identified Moses Kuria as a suitable running mate for United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Moses Kuria’s name was fronted by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei.
The Senator asked DP Ruto to pick Kuria as he had demonstrated unwavering support for the Rift Valley Kingpin in his bid to occupy the top office in 2022.
According to Ruto’s allies, Kuria ticks all the boxes as has been fighting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) constitutional amendment tooth and nail while curving out significant support from the Mount Kenya block.
“We have seen how Kuria has been fighting for Ruto through thick and thin and his constant support to Ruto, which indicates that he is the best for his position,’ reiterated Cherargei.
Kuria’s stand
The endorsement comes days after Kuria made it clear that he would not be joining UDA.
He however, maintained that he will continue to support Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Kuria’s party, the People’s Empowerment Party (PEP), had been identified as a Hustler Nation partner.
However, Kuria has faced challenges as PEP national chairman Watson Simiyu moved to wrestle the party from Kuria’s grips over rebranding.
It is alleged that Kuria wanted PEP to change its name to Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) and its slogan tailored to fit DP Ruto’s narrative, something Simiyu was not very keen on.
There are talks that Moses Kuria has since launched his own party dubbed Chama Cha Kazi (CCK).
