A male university student last evening stabbed his girlfriend to death following a disagreement.
The suspect, Elkana Korir, is a said to be a 3rd Year student at the University of Eldoret.
He is alleged to have stabbed and killed his girlfriend who is in Second Year at the same university. The girl has been identified as only Shelia.
“The young man had visited his girlfriend at her house where they seem to have argued,” the Soy Sub-county police commander Henry Zuma told Citizen.
The boy is said to have stabbed the girl to death – and then tried to take his own life by stabbing himself.
Police said they rescued him and rushed him to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The young man is in critical condition at the hospital – but the police are treating him as the main suspect.
Police said they will interview him once he has recovered fully.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to find out what may have transpired.
The body of the girl was taken to the MOI Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
