Members of parliament allied to Azimo One Kenya coalition on Tuesday decided to take their ‘fight’ on the doorsteps of President William Ruto’s Office along Harambee Avenue.

The legislators flanked by a group of supporters were determined to enter the big office, come rain come shine.

They included; Stewart Madzayo (Kilifi Senator) Enoch Wambua (Kitui Senator), Robert Mbui (Kathiani MP), Rosa Buyu (Kisumu Woman Rep), Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi Senator), TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka MP) and others.

A retinue of police officers armed with tergas and buttons dispersed the group.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga had said that his people would ‘pay Ruto a visit’ at his office.

The MPs had camped at the entrance of President William Ruto’s office on Tuesday morning – armed with letters which they sought to present to the Head of State.
The police were obviously not in the mood of receiving any letters on Tuesday morning – and therefore reciprocate by firing tear gas onto the milling crowd.

“We just want to give this letter to the right person. Tell them to come and take it,” Senator Sifuna could be heard saying to the officers moments before the teargas canisters took over.

Odinga had called his supporters to take to the streets to on Tuesday, May 2 to riot and express their disaffection at the government.

Raila has issued a list of demands to the government chief among being the runaway high cost of living, IEBC reforms, reinstatement of the Cherera 4 and others.
