An autopsy conducted on the body of a woman who collapsed and died on Monday, February 13 while walking from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) offices in Upper Hill has revealed shocking details.

Lilian Waithera, 46, collapsed as she was walking from her workplace in Upper Hill. She was in the company of some of her colleagues.

An autopsy carried out by Dr. Kamonde  found a bullet lodged in her lungs, showing that her death resulted from the gunshot.

“The female NHIF staff who collapsed and died along Kaunda Street on Monday evening had been shot from an elevated angle.”

“Autopsy revealed the bullet was lodged in her lungs,” police have said.

“The bullet entered through the collar bone having been fired from an elevated angle.”

“The bullet head has since been handed over to the police for ballistic examination,” said the police.

This means that Ms. Waithera may have been shot while walking on the streets.

There are reports that she may have been a whistleblower in some mega scandal, but police are yet to address the matter.

The body was taken to Kenyatta University Mortuary .

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating the incident.
