A 20-year-old man from Kericho has won Ksh 200 Million Betika Jackpot.

The good fortune knocked on the doors of young Moses Kiprono – and he grabbed it with both his hands – to become the latest millionaire in town.

“I am very happy. I am very excited after winning the money,” said Kiprono who sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in 2021.

Kiprono successfully predicted all 17 games in the Jackpot becoming the second person to win the Betika mega jackpot in Kenya.

Interestingly, the first winner of a first jackpot was 22-year-old Eli Kipruto Rotich, also from Rift Valley.  Rotich won Ksh 200 Million in December 2022.

Kipruto will walk home with Ksh 160 million since the win attracts  a 20% withholding tax.

Many Kenyans are planning to troope to Rift Valley to place bets after data showed that most bet winners came from Rift Valley, mostly Bomet County.

“I am moving to Bomet soon to place bets,” Stephen Oloo told Mwanahabari.

Some of the Kelenjins who have won huge bets include Cosmas Korir who won Ksh208,733,619 Million Sportpesa Mega Jackpot in 2018.

Geoffrey Keitany won Ksh 37,058,791 Million in 2017 after predicting all 17 games on SportPesa platform. He shared with two other winners; Daniel Rono (also a Kalenjin) and another winner.

Benson Tonui aged 51 years old won 31,736,374 shillings bonus after predicting 16 out of 17 games. Quinter Chemei won 31,002,159 on SportPesa in 2017. Julius Kerich also won 31,002,159 million that same time.

Dr Stanley Kiplangat Cheruiyot made away with Ksh10 million from Betika, Peter Byegon won 36 Million. Many more people have won.
