As the country continues to moan the passing of former Education CS George Magoha, many untold stories about his life are coming out.
Magoha wore specs up to the point of death – but did you know why?
Well, from Starehe Boys Centre which he joined for his secondary education, Magoha joined Strathmore for his ‘A’ Levels.
This was because Starehe did not offer Sciences at that level.
At some point, while at Strathmore, he started experiencing headaches, which would not go away.
The headaches defied even the strongest painkillers.
As a result, his academic performance started dropping, a thing that saw the principal take him to a consultant in town.
“… The doctor, who was spot on in his diagnosis of an eye problem, referred me to an optician and by afternoon, I was wearing prescribed lenses and my headaches were gone,” writes Prof Magoha in his memoirs, Tower of Transformational Leadership.
