Motorists and other Kenyans using Thika Road have been put on notice over their disregard for the 10pm curfew rule.
Police have today, Sunday, August 1, warned that they will spare no effort to ensure curfew rules are observed beginning tonight.
According to the police in Kasarani, Kenyans living along or using the famous Superhighway have not been following the 10pm curfew hours.
“Tukutane Thika Super Highway tonight. Tutakesha na nyinyi, I swear,” (Let us meet you on Thika Super Highway tonight. You will spend the night on the road, I swear,” said the officer.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai warned Kenyans against disregarding Covid-19 containment rules, noting that his officers will heighten their activities to ensure everyone is safe.
The warning by the police in Kasarani came after motorists were on Saturday, July 31, stranded on Thika Road after police mounted roadblock to nab those who were violating the 10pm curfew.
Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo even offered his vehicle to ferry women and children to their homes as the men remained behind. The motorists were allowed though the roadblock at 1am.
