Tragedy has struck a school in Tharaka Nithi after their bus loaded with students and teachers veered of the road, and landed in ditch.
The Monday, August 16 incident left one teacher dead and several students injured.
According to Nation, the bus belonging to Kianjeru Primary School in Tharaka Nithi County lost control along Meru-Nairobi road early Monday morning.
Tharaka Nithi County Emergency Response Team Coordinator Alex Mugambi told the media that the students sustained injuries, while the teacher died.
The bus was carrying students from Ibiriga Day Secondary School, 10 of which sustained injuries and were taken to Chuka County Referral Hospital.
It has since emerged that the students from a different school had been offered lift to their school.
