President William Ruto’s Administration plans has floated tenders for works on 165 roads across the country for the 2023/20224 period.

However – only one road from Nyanza Region has been earmarked for improvement.

The tender has been advertised by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

Those coming from President William Ruto’s backyard of Rift Valley will benefit the most – with 40 roads set to benefit – South Rift 10 roads and North Rift 30 roads.

Kenyans from Deputy President Riganthi Gachagua’s backyard of Central Kenya will have 37 roads out of the 165 listed worked on.

North Eastern will also have 37 roads carpeted. Lower Eastern will have 22 of their roads done this financial year.

The coast region will have only 6 roads done, while Nairobi will have six roads done.

Nyanza will have only one road re-carpeted.

Nyanza Region is a stronghold of Opposition leader Raila Odinga – who has been at the forefront leading anti-government protests since March.
