A Class 6 pupil in Garissa is in the news after reportedly attacking and stabbing his teacher following a disagreement.
Police said that the pupil stabbed his teacher inside the classroom.
The pupil cannot be named in this publication because of his young age.
Garissa County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich has confirmed the incident.
“The incident happened in Garissa town where a Class Six pupil harassed and beat up a female teacher,” said officer Cherutich.
“This is very shameful. That is why we arrested the parents to teach them that there is a law and it works,”he said.
The pupil is said to have lost his cool after the teacher demanded to know why he had failed to report to school since opening.
Residents said that the pupil walked out of the school after an altercation with the teacher, but came back moments later armed with a knife.
He then stabbed the teacher in the ear.
