The family of the woman who was killed by her husband on Thursday, September 9, was planning to visit her parents in the village this weekend.
The 24-year-old man identified as Eric Mutugi killed his wife inside a hired car – after spending time together with their four-month-old baby.
Eric was beaten and killed by an angry mob just moments after he killed his wife.
The angry mob lynched his body – and rescued the helpless baby who was left sleeping inside the car.
A source told Standard that Eric and his wife were set to visit her parents this weekend of September 11-12 for the purposes of introductions.
“The visit would have served as both introduction and unveiling of the baby to the woman’s parents,” a family friend told the media.
The bodies of the spouses are now lying at the General Kago Funeral Home in Thika.
