The brutal killing of a young Nairobi woman by a man said to be her boyfriend has raised more questions about the challenges facing most couples.
A bubbly Monica Katumbe Katee was shot in the belly 5 time by a man she had shared her bed with in Nairobi’s Mukuru Kwa Njenga area.
According to neighbours, the two lovers had been fighting a lot – with reports indicating that Monica had made a report to the area police a few hours earlier.
Monica is said to have expressed concern about her boyfriend’s endless violence and possible criminal activities- something that made her live in fear.
A fuming Joel is said to have confronted Monica in the house after realizing that she had reported him – and shot her from close-range – killing her on the spot.
Some neighbours said the couple had been fighting a lot with each accusing the other of infidelity.
The police are currently hunting down Joel who escaped from the scene on a boda boda.
Embakasi police boss John Nyamu said the suspect has been on their wanted list – and is well known to them.
The police believe that Joel is involved in criminal activities.
