The incident shocked Kenyans. Many people are still trying to come to terms with the shocking news about Olivia Naserian.
Naserian was caught on video – in a fit of rage – devouring her two-year-old daughter Glory Njeri at their home in Kitengela’s Milimani Estate.
The video – the shocking video – shows a naked Olivia stabbing her child countless times in the belly, before feeding on her intestines.
The incident reportedly happened on Sunday 23.
“Ninajichukia mwenyewe. Sijipendi ndio maana niliuawa mtoto wangu. Nimepitia magumu na huyu mtoto. I hate myself. I suffer from low self-esteem. I have gone through a lot with my daughter,” said Olivia who is alleged to have separated with her baby daddy.
Olivia is reportedly a fourth year commerce student at a local university.
Olivia appeared in a Kajiado court on Monday, April 25 looking undisturbed.
It was hard to imagine – looking at her eyes – that a mother would do such a thing to her daughter, her child.
The court has ordered that she be detained for 10 days to allow the police to complete their investigations.
Olivia is facing a murder charge after reportedly cutting her daughter into pieces using a knife – killing her.
She appeared before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau, with the case set for hearing on May 8.
The body of her daughter has been moved to Kitengela hospital morgue.
