Nicholas Kiplangat from Kayole in Nairobi is the newest millionaire in town.

Kiplangat who is a police officer narrowly missed winning Kenya’s biggest jackpot of Ksh291 million by one game, settling instead for a handsome bonus payout of Ksh11,143,139.

He won after correctly predicting the outcome of 16 out of 17 games in last weekend’s SportPesa Mega Jackpot.

If he had picked a win for the visiting team in game number one of the mega jackpot selection of Rotherham United vs Cardiff, he would have won 291 million.

The 36-year-old had bet on a draw for the match instead.

“I am happy that I have won Sh11 million, but I am also wishing that I had won the entire amount. I cannot believe that it is only one match that made me miss out on Sh291 million which would have made me so well-off financially to invest in several projects,” he said.

He now plans to build rental houses using the money.
