President William Ruto on Sunday night laid bare intricate details about a discussion he had with General Francis Ogolla – regarding IEBC Bomas of Kenya raid.
Many Kenyans feel that given the sensitivity of the docket currently being held by General Francis Ogolla – It was wrong for Ruto to spill the beans in the manner he did.
Ruto in his public discussion said that Ogolla, a Luo, was among the people who wanted to interfere with his 2022 presidential win.
“Even though I should not be talking about this, but because you have asked a good question.
“I would like to tell you that when I spoke to General Ogolla, yes, he may have made a mistake, and maybe he was instructed by the Commander-in-Chief, who ordered him to do what he did, General Ogolla told me that ‘I have no defence, you do with me what you would like me to do.”
“What I did was wrong, and I have no defence at all. You do with me what you want,” Ruto disclosed.
“The president said he reviewed Ogolla’s track record and made a conclusion that he was the right man for the job as CDF despite opposing his presidency,” he added.
“I appointed General Ogolla, he is among the people who went to Bomas to try and overturn my victory. But when I looked at his CV, he was the best person to be General. I made the decision consciously; I made the decision against the advice of many people,” said Ruto.
