Police in Eldoret have launched a manhunt for a motorist accused of sodomizing a 10-year-old boy before killing him and dumping his body along the road in Uasin Gishu county.
The suspect, a middle-aged man, is believed to have given the boy a lift in the Probox vehicle belonging to his father along the Eldoret-Eldama Ravine highway today afternoon.
While confirming the incident, County Commissioner Edison Nyale who described the incident as inhuman and barbaric said police have launched investigations into the matter with a view to bring to book the culprit.
According to an eye witness, the boy was walking alone along the highway to his home when the suspect stopped the vehicle and offered him a lift to his destination only to turn against the victim along the way.
“We saw him stopping the vehicle and asked the boy to board in the pretext of giving him a lift to his destination unknown to him that he was being trapped for another mission by the suspect,” said an eye whiteness who declined to be named.
On reaching a thicket, the suspect packed his vehicle to the side and subjected the boy unnatural act before killing him and then dumped his body along the road.
The body was discovered by members of the public who were passing by the crime scene and they informed police from Ainabkoi sub county who swung into action and impounded the vehicle.
“The good thing is that we have impounded the vehicle and it is just a matter of time we apprehend the suspect who is still at large,” assured |Nyale.
