There was confusion and anxiety at a Catholic church in Kasarani, Nairobi, after an image reportedly reflected on the wall of the giant church during live Mass.
A section of the congregation burst into jubilant songs claiming the image was that of Mary the Mother of Jesus.
A woman can be seen jumping uncontrollably and pointing at the wall behind the priests.
The priests threw one look at the wall, before resuming the mass. This is what Kenyans had to say about the incident.
The pianist could be heard playing soul touching music as the congregants celebrated in a video that went viral.
At some point, the priests withdrew from the Holy table to take picture of the image of Mary the Mother of Jesus.
LIBERALI: “I am a staunch Catholic and these are my observations;
- In such a rare occurrence, everyone should be startled. But the priests just watched still. There’s even one priest who turned to look almost a minute later.
- Why ten minutes? NB: I love my Catholic faith.
OMWAMBA: Say Amen.
BIG MAN TING: “You can clearly see the same luminosity between these 2 places meaning it’s just a window reflection.”
DAVID: “Okay let’s assume it is true a supernatural being appeared. My question is, who knows how Mary looks like?
“Number two, do you think when a heavenly being appears on earth the mortal men will just withstand its presence???”
KIPSOIWET: That’s a reflection
MUKERE: “I’m usually inclined to believe everything that happens in Nairobi is usually a scam.”
DORIS: “Mary was a blessed woman who carried Christ and her mission was ended. Now you celebrate the sun reflection we all see in your doors and every other opening, simply because its reflected upon that statue? And trees or whatever is causing the fluctuation is Mary? Mary died.”
KOSGEI: “People still don’t understand the concept of s projector.”
LISTON: “Where is the appearance??Am only hearing women shouting!”
FELIX: “There are two reflections there, one on the crucifix and another one down behind a priest. The priests are calm because they can’t see anything extra ordinary. The Church may or may not comment on the occurrence, based on its policy on apparitions.”
