Police in Kakamega have launched an investigation over the cause of death of a student who’s body was found inside his grandmother’s store on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
The body of Joshua Nakusi, 21, was found hanging with the rope tied to his neck.
According to Sarah Nekesa, she says her grandson, a Form Four student at Buchangu High School might have committed hanged himself after a quarrel.
“He has been hanging out with numerous girls in the village. I tried to warn him, I wanted him to fast finish school, but in return he threatened to kill himself,” said Nekesa.
Confirming the case, Shitoto village administrator Edward Oponyo urged parents to be close to their children to prevent such incidents.
“Students are going through a lot of challenges right now, as parents you should be close to your students at least to help them solve some of the problems they are facing,” he said.
However, Joshua’s body was removed from the area of scene by police from Kakamega police station who later took it to Kakamega general and Referral mortuary awaiting autopsy.
