A family in Lwakhupa village Navakholo constituency of Kakamega county is seeking justice for their keen, a Form 2 student who was arrested by police officers on suspicion of defilement.
Bonface Wekesa, 17, is alleged to have been arrested on November 24 by police officers at Nambacha police station and has been detained at the station for allegedly defiling and impregnating a fellow student.
According to Roselyne Owinjo, Wakesa’s mother she admits the duo were in a relationship but broke up two years ago.
“They were indeed in a relationship, but they broke up two years ago, during that time we never heard any reports of our son impregnating someone’s daughter,” said Owinjo.
She claimed her son’s relationship was ruined by another student who had moved into the village from Nairobi.
“The girl was found cheating with another boy who had recently moved into the village, the two have been into a relationship until when the boy finished his form four April this year,” She added.
It is alleged that after the boy found out he had impregnated the schoolgirl, he denied the accusation and flew back to Nairobi. With no one left for her, she laid the accusations to her former ex-boyfriend.
“The information written to the police station states my son defiled the girl inside a sugarcane plantation and impregnated her,” She said.
However, the family has now demanded a DNA test to be done immediately after the girl gives birth to determine the real parents.
