Police have identified a politician said to have fired 14 times into the air at the scene where four young men were brutally killed in Kitengela on August 8, 2021.
The identity of the politician has remained concealed – but investigations are advancing with the police revealing that some people were trying to subvert justice.
The detectives are trying to find out how the said politician arrived at the scene, and what prompted him to fire a whole 14 rounds of ammunition in just a few minutes of the fateful night.
According to the police, the politician is a subject under investigations.
It has also emerged that two local administrators are under investigations, with a chief already questioned with regards to he murders.
“We have placed them at the scene of the murder. We are moving to build a strong case. We are also aware of the local community’s attempts to subvert justice.
“The statements already recorded indicate a well-orchestrated scheme to subvert justice,” said a detective.
The murder of two brothers Fred Mureithi, 30 and Victor Mwangi, 25, and their friends Mike George, 29, and Nicholas Musa, 28 has shocked the country. The four were beaten up and lynched after being accused of stealing livestock.
It has since emerged that the young men were not criminals, but bikers who were in the area to visit a friend where they held a party.
