Famous Nigerian actress Rachel Oniga is dead.
The 64-year-old actress illuminated the screens and warmed her way into the hearts of the many Nollywood fans.
The single mother worked for Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a European engineering consultancy firm with its regional head office in Nigeria.
Her death was confirmed by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State chapter.
“We got the news early morning today. We have nothing to say other than to give glory to God for a life well spent,” AGN chairman Emeka Rising said.
Oniga’s son, Olatunji, said she died on Friday at 10pm.

“She had malaria and typhoid,” he said.

Oniga who was born on May 23, 1957 before launching her career in 1993 won a number of awards. She will be remembered for some of the movies which include: “30 Days in Atlanta”, “The Wedding Party’”, “Power Of Sin” and “Restless Mind’’ among other famous Nigerian movies.
