World Cup: Why Switzerland Star Refused to Celebrate Cameroon Goal

BY MWANAHABARI REPORTER

Switzerland snatched a 1-0 win against Cameron at the ongoing World Cup games in Qatar.

The highlight of the match was when Switzerland striker Breel Embolo scored a goal on the 48th minute – but refused to celebrate.

Embolo refused to celebrate the goal because Cameroun is his country of birth.

The 25-year-old player who also plays for Monaco in France was born in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Although he grew up in Switzerland, his father lives in Cameroon.

The loss meant that Cameroon has lost eight successive World Cup matches. The former Afcon Champions last won a World Cup match on June 6, 2002.
