Timothy Wanyonyi has opened up about a carjacking incident that left him confined to a wheelchair.
Wanyonyi recounted details of the incident that robbed him his ability to use his legs.
The incident which happened in Nairobi’s Ngara’s area in 1998 left him with an indelible mark, but with a tough resolve and dedication as well.
“My ending up in this wheelchair was about crime. I was shot by carjackers in Ngara, in 1998.”
“Very quickly my life transformed from a young vibrant lawyer to being in a wheelchair,” Tim said in a tweet.
Tim is the current Member of Parliament of Westlands – a seat he won on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
The MP had initially sought to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the August 9 elections on Azimio La Umoja ticket, but was prevailed upon to step down in favour of Jubilee candidate Polycarp Igathe.
The lawyer had since announced that he will be fighting to retain his Westlands seat.
