Ruto Ally Ngirici Speaks After Waiguru Doubts Jubilee’s Strength

BY MWANAHABARI REPORTER

Deputy President William Ruto’s fierce defender – Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici – has welcomed County Governor Ann Waiguru to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Ngirici who has been Waiguru’s political rival, on Wednesday, September 8, welcomed Waiguru to join UDA stating that she was ready and willing to face her in the party nominations.

Ngirici’s invitation came just hours after Anne Waiguru told Citizen TV in an interview that she feared she could lose her seat if she was to defend her seat on Jubulee – if elections were held today.

Ngirici is also eyeing the Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat in 2022 under the UDA party – and she will be battling it our with Waiguru who is yet to declare what political party she will be using in 2022 to defend her seat.

“I’m optimistic that I will defeat the current governor by far, watch this space,” Ngirici stated.

Waiguru has expressed her fears that the ruling party Jubilee had fallen fallen out of favour with the people of Mt Kenya  – and that it would be difficult to run on Jubilee and win.

“I am spending time on the ground, listening to what the people want. One needs to be careful to make the right decision to survive politically. I am asking my people which ‘vehicle’ to use to secure my seat,” said Waiguru who also noted that she would not rule out working with the DP.
