Royal Media Services Set to Launch Ramogi TV

Kenya’s leading media house Royal Media Services is set to launch Ramogi TV  in October 2021 to add to its wide range of products and services.

Once launched, the dholuo station will have to compete with the likes of Lolwe TV which has been keeping Nyanza residents informed and entertained.

Royal Media Services, which owns Citizen TV, Kenya’s leading TV by viewership according to latest ranking, will be toiling and moiling to replicate the success it has enjoyed with Ramogi Radio.

A source at Citizen told Mwanahabari.co.ke that plans are underway to have the vernacular TV station up and running possibly by next month October.

The media house on Wednesday advertised news anchor positions targeting TV anchors who can speak dholuo fluently.

The advertisement read: “Royal Media Services is Searching for Dholuo TV presenters. Send your CV and short video about yourself to WhatsApp 0704010101 by Wednesday 8, September 2021.”

Royal Media Services which fashions its programming primarily to connect local audiences; the unserved and underserved,  is home to some of the most popular television and radio channels according to audience share.

The station which is owned by businessman SK Macharia so far has 2 TV stations (Citizen TV, Inooro TV), 14 radio stations, 12 of which are vernacular and a Video on Demand platform (Viusasa).

The radio stations include Radio Citizen, Ramogi FM, Inooro FM, Musyi FM, Chamgei FM, Muuga FM, Egesa FM, Bahari FM, Mulembe FM, Wimwaro FM, Sulwe FM, Hot 96 and Vuuka FM.
