[PHOTOS]: Kenyan Kid ‘joins’ Arsenal Football Academy

ENGLAND Premier League football giants Arsenal FC is trending in Kenya – and for a good course this time around.

Little Leo Messo, a football prodigy with roots from Siaya County, has joined Arsenal Football Academy.

Messo, whose father is Kenyan who hails from Siaya, has brought smiles in the frowning faces of Arsenal fans in Kenyan – especially after enduring a difficult campaign.

There is, however, no official from the club about Messo, even though photos and videos taken at emirates strongly hinted that he could have joined the Academy. Photos/Courtesy

Photos of Messo, 10, are currently doing rounds on social media after he was photographed, alongside his father, Benson Messo, with some members of the Arsenal first team squad moments after he signed a contract with the former English Premier League giants.

There is, however, no official from the club about Messo, even though photos and videos taken at emirates strongly hinted that he could have joined the Academy.

If true, then Messo will wear jersey Number 9 at the Academy, which is currently worn by striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Messo who is a striker, could just turn out to be that lethal goal-poacher – like Thiery Henry – should he transition to the senior team.

Once confirmed by the club, Messo could become the first Kenyan to join the prestigious Arsenal Academy that has produced some of the big names in football, the likes Ashley Cole, Nigerian Alex Iwobi and Francis Coquelin.
