Former Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Dr Mukhisa Kituyi has dismissed as photoshopped an alleged sex video of himself and an unidentified woman.
Kituyi has decided to come out ad speak on the video after days of going silent – with many Kenyans poking fun and wondering why he had gone under after such an explosive video.
According to Kiuyi, this was an act of political sabotage by individuals who want to ‘finish’ his career.
The video came out just months after Kituyi announced his intent to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
“I dismiss the photoshopped edited video doing rounds on social media purporting to expose my private parts. It doesn’t in any way whatsoever depict the true representation of my private organs. I want to distance myself from such false and untrue malicious stories destined at killing my political career,” Kituyi said in the statement.
“I would like to ask my supporters to ignore the video,” he said.
Kituyi has received support from a number of quotas with the likes of former Senator Bonni Khalwale claiming that that the former UN boss had been set up.
“It doesn’t require genius to decipher that Mukhisa Kituyi has been set up. People should mind their own business,” stated Khalwale.
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua also defended Kituyi saying: “Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi is a globally respected intellectual powerhouse and one of Kenya’s best leadership brands. He’s an elder, a husband and a father. To drag his private moments – real or perceived, into the public is evidence of how low we have sunk as society. SAD!”
Kituyi is also facing an assault case against a woman identified as Diana Lutta who claimed Kituyi assaulted her at a hotel at the Coast.
