Safaricom, Kenya’s leading telecommunication company said in the statement thus:

“During the maintenance, all M-pesa services including airtime purchase will be temporarily unavailable.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused and thank you for your continued support, ” Safaricom stated.

The company however maintained that this was a minor maintenance and which would lead to very minimal interference of its M-pesa services.

Safaricom has intentionally planned the maintenance to take place at night when most of the customers are less active on M-pesa to minimise disruptions as much as possible.
