Kenyan midfielder Francis Kahata has written an emotional letter to Simba FC fans, the clubs management, and technical team after leaving the club.
The diminutive midfielder left Tanzanian giants Simba this week after the expiry of his two-year contract.
The former Gor Mahia midfielder joined Simba in 2019 – and won two league titles in Tanzania besides playing in the Caf Africa Champions League.
Kahata took to Instagram to address fans, players and the technical bench.
“It has been a journey that is sweet, memorable and bitter since I landed to this great country Tanzania. I received immense support and love from the Executive Team lead by Mo Dewji, Technical staff, playing unit and Wanasimba fans. My gratitude goes to the head coach Didier Gomez for the opportunity to represent the Red colour, my team mates for the impressive support and everyone who rode with me along the way.
I leave with my head held up and proud of my achievements a the club. It has reached a time to say goodbye and bid farewell to all of you. A man has to seek greater challenges and newer opportunities elsewhere. I will forever be grateful to the team and wish everyone all the best in the coming games and seasons.
The 2 years were worth the ride. Ahsanteni sana wanasimba na kila la kheri hadi siku ingine palipo majaliwa. Kahata 25. ADIOS.”
