Green Park Terminus: Matatus celebrate after NMS announcement

The much anticipated launch of the famous Green Park bus terminus has been postponed.

The announcement was made by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) on Monday, May 23, much to the celebration of matatu operators.

NMS who are incharge of the project said the project had been postponed indefinitely.

This means that matatu operators will continue to operate as usual – at least for the time being.

The NMS statement read: “NMS wishes to notify the public that the operationalization of the Green Park Bus Terminal that was set to commence on May 24, has been postponed following a request for time extension by PSV operators.

The new date will be duly communicated.”

Operators of matatus who were to be affected by the launch have breathed a sigh of relief.

Indeed, many had expressed their disaffection at the hurried manner in which the project had been carried.

many felt their business would be affected greatly as the park would limit their operations in Nairobi.
