Why KCSE is important

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education is a mandatory entrance examinations for students living in Kenya to advance to a tertiary education.

Did you know: History of KCSE

The first KCSE exam was held in 1989 at the same time as the last Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE), which it replaced as the entrance requirement for Kenyan universities.

In 1989, students sitting KCSE examinations sat for 10 subjects, but this was reviewed before it was changed to the current 7 subjects.
