A family in Navakholo constituency of Kakamega County is seeking justice for their kin who was killed by unknown people on his way home from ushering in the New Year.

Suleiman Kwamba, 58, a resident of Kisembe village is reported to have been attacked at night while he was on his way home before his body was found dumped next to the road.

According to Rukia Ngokho, wife of the deceased, her husband’s body was found mutilated, and with deep cuts in the head.

“Someone known to us has been sending us threatening messages,”she said.

Nothing was stolen from the deceased.

A knife and other weapons suspected to have been used to kill the deceased were found on the scene, next to the lifeless body.

“He had deep wounds on his head, abdomen and back. We suspect his brother might have been responsible for this death,” added Ngokho.

Navakholo police commander Richard Omanga urged residents to remain calm as the matter is being investigated.

“If someone receives any threatening messages, it is better to report it to the relevant department so that quick action can be taken,” he said.

The residents wants the police officers in the area replaced claiming they were sleeping on the job – yet crime was soaring in the area each passing day.
