Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has warned against electing a president they know very well they will regret electing into office in 2022.
The former county chief impressed upon Kenyans to vote wisely lest they put in office an unsuitable leader.
Kabogo was speaking at in Kapseret constituency, Uasin Gishu County, during the burial of Kikuyu council of elders chairman, North Rift chapter chairman the late Kamunu Wakabari.
He told the voters not to blame God for giving them the wrong leader, but instead apportion blame to themselves for exercising their democratic right to put in office a tyrant.
Don’t blame God, blame yourselves
“It is you voters who line up from morning to evening to elect leaders of your choice. So when you elect the wrong leader as your President, do not blame it on God,” said Kabogo to the applause of hundreds of mourners.
The burial ceremony was attended by area MP Oscah Sudi, his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany and a host of MCAs from Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Nandi counties.
Sudi asked different communities living in the region to foster peace and avoid leaders out to divide them along tribal or political
affiliations ahead of the 2022 general election.
“We should say no to leaders who thrive on witch-hunt, hatred and incitement as we gear up to the 2022 general election for the sake of peace and unity in the country,’ said Sudi.
