A young woman’s body was on Monday night found stashed inside a suitcase in Juja area.

Residents who noticed the suspicious suitcase informed the police who scrambled to the area to investigate the matter.

The incident which had signs of a love story gone sour, was reported under OB 26/17/1/2022 at 7:40pm at the Mugutha police station in Kiambu.

According to the police, the the suitcase containing the dead body was found abandoned near the service lane along the perimeter wall of the Recce company camp at Toll area about four kilometres South of the station.

“The officers visited the scene and confirmed that there was a body of unknown African female adult in her early twenties which had been stashed in a nylon sack and put in a black suitcase with the hands tied at the back and both legs as well tied with manila ropes,” read the police report in part.

It was obvious that the young woman must have suffered in the hands of her captors – with her injuries showing signs of torture.

“She had also been tied around the neck with a nylon rope,” the officers noted in their report.

The unidentified body had a deep cut on the left breast, ink writings on the chest, and on both her palms and thighs which read “Bwana ya mtu ni sumu.”

The body was taken to City Mortuary awaiting identification and autopsy.
