Was he Drunk? Kenyans Ask as Korogocho MCA is Arrested

The Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo has been arrested.

Odhiambo was arrested in Nairobi on Monday, January 30, on grounds that he made inciteful comments at an Azimio rally in Kamukunji Grounds.

Odhiambo had been summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) following his comments.

His arrest came after a video of the MCA spewing bile, and inviting Azimio supporters to mobilize themselves and pay State House ‘a visit’ broke the internet.

Many felt he may have gone overboard with some of his utterances, calling the president and the deputy demeaning names in public.

Others, however, felt that it was not abnormal to hear such utterances made by a typical Kenyan politician.

Odhiambo was arrested at the NCIC headquarters at the Britam Towers, in Nairobi.

Speaking about the event, NCIC boss Rev Samuel Kobia said: “Political development in the last few days is creating unnecessary tension that if not well managed can plunge the country into chaos.”

Kobia has asked politicians to stop propagating ethnic politics.
