Trio Mio’s Mother Complains About Leaking Roof & Snails in her Apartment

BY MWANAHABARI REPORTER

Tenants residing at an apartment that happens to house the mother of Kenya’s music sensation Trio Mio are quite unhappy.

The tenants have for the past few weeks been expressing their displeasure with the state of the building in a common WhatsApp group.

It is in this building that Trio Mio, the kid musician who just recently performed at Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja event, lives with his mother.

The WhatsApp depicts a sorry situation – with residents posting pictures of  leaking roofs, blocked sinks, snails and flooded floors.

Some of the tenants felt the full force of mother nature after waking up to flooded rooms on Saturday night following a heavy downpour experienced in some parts of Nairobi over the weekend.

According to a leaked WhatsApp conversation between tenants and the management of CnC building, a five-storey building in Kwa Ndege estates in Embakasi constituency, Trio Mio’s mother was forced to clean the filthy corridors to make the building habitable.

“If there’s someone who experienced the full force of yesternight storm is me. My entire house was flooded with water from the balcony and trickling water from the ceiling. I’ve collected 7 buckets of water from my floor. Everything is wet including seats and carpets,” of the tenants wrote in the group.

The conversation that is in our possession opened a can of worms with other tenants, including Trio Mio’s mother revealing the pathetic state under which they live.

“I experienced the same issue, house number CC7, Rainwater was leaking through the table room window, then my kitchen is full of snails. Who has remedies apart from using salt,” another tenant wrote.

But Trio Mio’s mother – Irma Sakwa, was forced to take matters into her hands by cleaning the dirty corridors.

“Caretaker, please please, can we get the corridors cleaned JAMENI!” mother to “Cheza kama wewe” hitmaker said.

In a follow up message, she informed other tenants that she did the civic duty of clearing the chuff: “Just swept water off my door now. Shida (ni), umeendea wa chini (lower floor) who’s just knocked at my door. Caretaker says it’s Sunday…”

Trio Mio is living with her mother in a two-bedroom apartment in Embakasi.

Other tenants were also seen complaining of blocked sinks.

“This is the kitchen sink & I just came into the house this week, on Thursday,” lamented the new tenant.

When reached for comment, miss Sakwa said: “So are you going to write that Mama Trio is complaining about dirty building.

“Let whatever we said in the group remain there. Staki ufala!”
