A village in Lugulu Busia County is in mourning following the killing of a school guard on the morning of Monday, June 28, 2021.
Lugulu Day Secondary school guard identified as Gabriel Juma was hacked to death by two unknown individuals who sneaked into the learning institution at 3am.
The criminals reportedly injured another security guard whom police identified as Boaz Wafula. The thugs who remain at large broke into the staff room and made away with two television set.
Wafula who sustained injuries in he attack is currently admitted at Webuye Hospital.
peaking after incident, a source said the criminals were armed with a machete.
“They were only two people and they had a machete. They broke into the staff room and stole television sets. It is not yet clear what they may have stolen from the bursar’s office,” a source told Citizen.
The area Chief Mr Paul Nyongesa asked the residents to remain calm, noting that the perpetrators could be people from the area.
“I request the Lugulu fraternity to take time and see where the problem may be coming from. There is a possibility that someone is leaking certain information to these criminals,” he said.
Another source described the deceased ‘soldier’ as a good man.
“The ‘soldier’ was a very polite and kind man. He would never cross anyone’s line. I urge the government to intervene and ensure the soldier gets justice,” a source old Citizen.
