Police Reveal What Caused The Fire at Moi Girls

Police have issued a preliminary report following the fire that broke out at the Moi Girls High School Eldoret on the night of Thursday 19th, 2022.

Police from Uasin Gishu County have said that the fire may have been caused by laboratory chemicals.

“Investigations are ongoing and we will get a conclusive report in the course of this week. However, we suspect that the fire was caused by chemicals that could have ignited the fire,” Uasin Gishu County Police County Police Commander Ayub Gitonga said.

The fire destroyed property of an unknown value including three laboratories inside the school

Fire fighters from Uasin Gishu County managed to put out the fire. There were no injuries of loss of life reported in the 11pm incident.

A number of school building were destroyed in the fire.

Most parents rushed to school that night to check on their children.
