The Kenya National Highway Authority (KENHA) has closed Uhuru Highway starting from the Nyayo Stadium Roundabout.
The closure which will run from Saturday, May 29-May 31 is meant to pave way for the installation of culverts to enhance drainage on that section of the road.
“The Kenya National Highway Authority wishes to notify the general public that there will be road closure for the Nairobi bound traffic at Nyayo Stadium Roundabout starting Saturday, of May 29 at 9.00am to Monday of May 31 at 9.00am. This is to pave the way for the ongoing installation of culverts for effective drainage of stormwater along the highway,” read the statement issued by KENHA on Friday, May 28.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes of (Aerodrome Road, Baricho Road or Dunga Road). The authority promised to erect adequate directional road signs for effective traffic flow.
“KENHA apologises for any inconveniences that may be caused as the authority endeavours to provide an efficient, safe and reliable road network,” stated KENHA.
Motorists and pedestrians have been encouraged to observe safety measures implemented at the construction site.
