Nairobi Expressway: City Hotel Forced to Install Bulletproof Barriers

Villa Rosa Kempinski is putting up a bulletproof glass barrier around its swimming pool which faces the Nairobi Expressway.

The hotel made the revelations following concerns regarding safety.

The safety concerns have been raised due to the closeness of the the Nairobi Expressway to the hotel.

According to Villa Rosa Kempinski, the hotel which has been attracting international and regional delegates including presidents and celebrities is safe despite being very close to the Nairobi Expressway.

The hotel maintains that its rooms including a presidential suite are far from the road.

Sales manager Judy Matengo said the speed limit on the 27 km would not allow any person to be a threat.

The hotel is putting up a bulletproof glass barrier to the swimming pool facing the road.

The hotel is often frequented by the who-is-who in Kenya and abroad.

It was this hotel that hosted former United States President Barack Obama when he visited Kenya in 2015.

The hotel also hosted Obama’s family dinner on the night he arrived in the country.
