Lucy Wanjiku Gacheri aka LG Shiks, has been found after she was reported missing on Friday, June 25.
The family of the 32-year-old tour consultant thanked Kenyans for their support – noting that their daughter had been found.
Shik’s family and friends were distraught after her Toyota Fielder was found abandoned outside Nyayo House in Nairobi – but she could not be traced.
She dropped clients
Shiks had been doing well as a tour consultant but went through a rough patch following cancelled trips and slow business due to COVID-19 which saw her take on other jobs to make ends meet.
The mother of two was reportedly found alive in a hospital. Sources told the media that she had dropped some clients to Nyayo House that evening after which she went missing.
“The doctor assured us that they have her but she is being treated and we can’t see her yet. They asked we give her some time to recover, in a day or two when she is in a better state we can then see her and get to piece up information,” Shik’s friend Kami Mbaabu stated.
Power of social media
Shik’s family and friends have applauded the power of social media after they rallied Kenyans to help the find Shiks.
“We found that everyone even the security guards already had her picture. This country has loved Shiks so much that word spread like bush fire,” stated Shiks.
Still in hospital
Shiks is still in hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. The family said they are yet to find out how she got to the hospital; whether she was taken there or she had checked in on her own.
