The Law Society of Kenya issued a statement to distance itself from an alleged Special General Meeting held by certain members on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
“Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating in the media alleging that a Special General Meeting of the Law Society of Kenya was held today Saturday, 26, June,2021.
“This is to notify members of the Law Society of Kenya and the general public that NO legally sanctioned Special General Meeting has been held today,” reads the statement.
The statement goes on to read:
“The CEO of the Law Society of Kenya is appointed by the Council and continues to be in office.
“Council members are elected into office in line with the provisions of the Law Society of Kenya Act, 2014and serve for a period of two years.
“The composition of the Council remains as elected by members on February 22, 2020 and assumed office on 24, March,2020 as hereunder;
