Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has been asked to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test before being allowed in London to meet Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Uhuru travelled to London after he was exempted from the Red List UK imposed on Kenyan travellers amid concerns about the spread of the new COVID-19 variants.
Uhuru will arrive in London today, July 27, to chair Global Education Summit and strengthen the Kenya-UK strategic partnership.
Uhuru and his team took the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), the most advanced COVID-19 test that detects the virus in its early stages.
The tests were aimed at protecting Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the royal family who will be interacting with Kenyan officials during the summit.
