Opinion poll conducted by research firm Trends & Insights for Africa (Tifa) has placed Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of his Kenya Kwanza Alliance competitor Dr William Ruto.
The polls conducted in the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa and Makueni in the month of April place Raila ahead with quite some margin.
Raila registered 41 percent in Nairobi, 48 percent in Makueni and 50 percent in Mombasa.
On the other hand, Ruto registered 26 percent in Nairobi, 18 percent in Makueni and 32 percent in Mombasa.
This is a The polls also showed that 32 percent of Nairobians are undecided on their preferred choice of presidential candidate.
The polls also showed that ODM remains the most popular party in Nairobi at 26 percent followed closely by UDA at 22 percent.
Jubilee Party is third at five percent followed by Wiper Party at two percent.
In terms of most popular alliances, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance takes the cake in Nairobi, Makueni and Mombasa at 42 percent, 62 percent and 41 percent respectively.
Still in Mombasa, the polls showed that if elections were held today, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir would succeed Governor Hassan Joho.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko would finish at position two – that’s according to the polls.
Sonko announced his bid to vie for the Mombasa governor’s position just recently, and will be vying on a Wiper Party ticket that is led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
