The family of Jack Anyago Ochieng – the last of the Kitengela Four – are distraught after the mother collapsed and had to be rushed to a hospital in Kisumu in bad condition.
“My mother has not talked or eaten for days. I had to stop the search and run back home in Homa Bay to take her to the hospital after I received a call informing me that she had collapsed,” Cliff Ochieng told Mwanahabari.co.ke on phone.
“I am worried for my mother. The news of my kid brother’s death is killing her. I fear I may lose her if we don’t get Jack – dead or alive. All we want is a closure on this matter,” said Cliff, who has been combing dozens of hospitals and mortuaries across the country in search of his missing kid brother.
Meanwhile – Jack’s father suffered a stroke a few years ago – and has been bedridden for years. The news of his son Jack has continued to take a toll on the old man who is in 70s and nearing 80s.
“The government has the machinery to get to the bottom of this matter – and help find my brother. The government can find him if they decide to find him whether alive or dead. I am just a normal citizen – but here I am digging through bodies in search of my brother. Is that really fair?” poses Cliff who says he has undergone untold torture as he looks for he brother.
Asked if he knows what may have happened to his brother Jack, an alumni of Chianda Boys in Rarieda, he says he has no idea.
“I read these stories in the papers. All I know is that my brother used to do ticketing in the tourism sector – and only stopped when Covid-19 happened. The government has not linked him to any crime so far – and now his body cannot be found,” he said, adding that the family never knew the other three people who were with his brother in Kitengela.
“The police have not directly linked Jack to any crime. I read in the papers that the other three – whose bodies have since been found – had criminal records – but nothing has been said about Jack’s criminal activities,” he says.
The team’s leader, Brian Oduor, popularly known as “Champe” derived from the word ‘Champion’ and Imbai are said to have had active court cases at the Mavoko and Kibera Law Courts.

Jack who was 37 years old – and was an alumni of Chianda Boys is yet to be found – and the family is asking the government to help them find their kin.
