Did MP Duale help fix hot girlfriend into TSC Job?

There are reports that Leader of Majority Hon Aden Duale may have used his influence and standing in the society to secure a job for a hot girlfriend.

The MP is said to have helped Leila Ali to secure appointment at the Teacher Service Commission (TSC).

Many people are said to have questioned her competence to actually deliver on the difficult job.

There are reports that MP Duale pushed aside unfavourable recommendations from the Parliamentary Education committee – and went ahead to influence her employment at the TSC.

The MP, using his powers as the Leader of Majority, would proceed to table a motion before the House in support of the nomination of Ms Ali and another candidate to the TSC job, reportedly against the advice of the Parliamentary Education committee.

This came after Leila Abdi and another nominee; Mr Mbage Njuguna, appeared before a parliamentary committee on Education and Research.

It is reported that the Parliamentary Education and Research Committee had rejected both the nomination of Leila Al and the other candidate on grounds that they lacked proper, measurable experience in the field of education.

However, the Leader of Majority opposed the report and pushed for the approval for employment of Leila Abdi Ali – and the other candidate.

A determined, meticulous and ruthless Duale argued that: “I am in a very precarious position today as Leader of Majority, I have never intended to oppose the report of a committee but today I oppose the report by the Education and Research Committee.”

Leila Abdi Ali, a Somali born, holds dual citizenship, having applied to be a Kenyan citizen in 2006. She holds both British and Kenyan citizenship but said she has no problem denouncing her UK citizenship if given the job.

The vetting committee were treated to a circus after Leila reportedly failed to produce her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) and Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.

She instead produced a photocopy of her Form Four mock exams done in 1996 and a degree certificate from London South Bank University.

Between 2004 and 2006 she was studying at Uxbridge College, the UK and London South Bank University, UK respectively. Her degree certificate shows she graduated in 2004 having studied Accounting and Finance in 2001.

She insisted that she has an O level certificate but could not produce it saying she did not collect the document after graduating.

The committee also put her to task over her nationality after she revealed that she was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, but was raised in Kajiado, Kenya.

Leila’s appointment was opposed by Ali Hassan from Mandera, who said Leila was not a resident of North Eastern since the position had been reserved for the region.
