A top member of Jacaranda Bunge La Wananchi Mr. Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho has been arrested.
Gaucho, a staunch supporter of Opposition leader Raila Odinga was reportedly arrested outside City Hall by undercover police.
The outspoken and unapologetic Odinga supporter was just recently promised lunch by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The news of his arrest has left other outspoken members of Jacaranda Bunge La Wananchi that holds daily meeting in Nairobi’s Eastlands area worried.
It is not yet clear why Gaucho was arrested.
Other reports indicate that the police have been looking for him since Saturday, May 27.
The government critic is said to have switched off his mobile phone before going into hiding.
“Three undercover police officers picked him as he was having a chat with some of his supporters outside City Hall,” said a source.
The police are said to have asked him to accompany them – which he did without putting a fight.
“They bundled him inside a blue Subaru and drove off,” added the source who was present at the scene.
