A pastor from the African Divine Church (ADC) in Kakamega escaped with his life after being caught with someones wife in the sleepy Mufutu village in Lugari Sub-county.
The pastor only identified as Samuel was caught by the woman’s two children. The children are said to have entered the bedroom without notice after they heard commotion in the bedroom.
“I opened the door and that’s when he assaulted my brother and I, kicking us as he made his way out of the room, but we managed to restrain him,” the woman’s son Arnorld Lumilia told the media.
According to the children, the pastor, who on that night had packed his motorcycle outside the house, had become a regular visitor at their home – and was always sneaking into their mother’s bedroom.
The commotion attracted neighbours who ran to the homestead – and saved the pastor from an angry mob – most of them his congregants at the church. The pastor was frog-matched half naked to the police station.
The husband – Charles Mulongo – whose wife was caught on the act with the Man of God – said he received a call from his children informing him that they had caught a man who has been having an affair with their mother.
“After receiving reports that my wife Eunice Mutembei was caught with a man in my matrimonial bed, I left immediately and decided to take away the children since according to Abumuchi clan of Kabras, traditions demand we must conduct rituals for the children to live healthy,” said Mulongo.
Adding: “This is a lack of respect and diminishing to the family. Our traditions do not allow such behaviour. The woman has been inviting her lover to our Lwandeti home in my own bed that is an affront to my manhood.”
“I think the man should just pay me Ksh2,000 and he will be free, but I will not allow my wife to come back,” said Mulongo.
The pastor had even packed his motorbike in the house,” she said.
