Govt Warns Police Officers Looking to Quit job Early

If you were intending to join the National Police Service (NPS) – only to leave before 10 years of service, be prepared for a hefty fine.

The National Police Service has announced that it will be fining any officer who decides to quite service before elapse of 10 years a whooping Ksh1.2 million.

“Let it be clear to all recruits who will be joining the service, do it if it is your passion and not a hobby,” said Rono. Rono also urged those with medical conditions to keep off the recruitment exercise.

“We have lost recruits during training period due to undisclosed illness, if there is any recruit with underlying issues, let him keep off since their lives are more important than this job,” said Police Commissioner Naftaly Rono.

The amount is meant to compensate the government for the investment it made on the officers.

Ideally, police recruits go for 15 months of intensive training at Kenya police college in Kiganjo.
